MAKING WORKING OUT A BREEZE
Well, most of us will admit to it. Sticking to an excercise routine certainly is hard !!
We start out with such good intentions, but then, there is some little interruption and all our good intentions go straight out the window. We're always going to get back to it, but ......
I have always had tremendous admiration for those who can stick to these routines and make them a lifetime habit. People who can consistently incorporate exercise into their daily lives. But then, why are they different?
I have now discovered it is possible for the rest of us to accomplish this. It just requires a bit of help to achieve the commitment and the mindset we need.
And that help I found recently!
The big discovery I made was audio books. Now I actually look forward to my "time out" exercise routine, whatever it may be. With digital downloadable audiobooks exercise does not seem to entail the same effort as it did before.
No more being limited to whatever is on the big screen at the gym, watching something you aren't the slightest bit interested in or listening to music on your Ipod that you have heard a thousand times before.
Now with wonderful audio books you can actually be working out whilst simultaneously listening to experts in the area of exercise and motivation. This really gives you the incentive to keep on track and instead of your mind wandering to the cappuccino and cake you might devour when you finish, you will be much more inclined to concentrate on the job at hand - namely, you, your health and a better shaped body!
Good audiobooks will help you exercise the right way. Most of us really don't have a clue when it comes to doing these things properly. With audio you can listen, be guided and at the same time be putting information into action.
Many of the authors have battled themselves and so can relate to our demons. You will be encouraged to tap the power of your mind and incorporate positive thinking into your daily life. Be made aware of good dietary habits, find out about things like metabolism, be able to recognise bad habits and the list goes on.
It is amazing how quickly the time goes when you are engrossed in something interesting. But you do not necessarily need to be listening to an exercise or motivational guru. Instead you could be hearing the latest novel or even learning a new language. The scope is endless. The point is, if it is something really interesting, the time will fly and rather than the exercise being a tedious task it becomes quite the opposite. You will find as you progress you can extend the length of time that you exercise and you will do it effortlessly. If you think you are waivering go back to motivational audios. They can be used over and over.
And with the magic of technology access to audio books is now easier than ever. Thousands of downloadable audiobooks are at your fingertips via a computer. A quick download onto your Ipod, MP3 player or mobile phone and off you go. No more bothering to go to shops.
The thing is - life today for us fortunate ones is just too good. Ironically it brings for many of us a constant weight battle and if we can find something that will keep us on track then we should embrace it, forgo the cake and cappuccino and instead buy the latest audiobook. The cost of downloadable audio is a much cheaper option than the actual physical product being about half the cost.
As parents we should be mindful of the current child obesity problem and the early onset of diabetes along with so many other related health issues. We should encourage our children to seek knowledge and use every device available to combat this scourge.
Exercise can be interesting. Be motivated, be guided, be entertained, be healthy, be an example - physically and mentally.
Use audio books !
